Mason | Week One

19 July 2013

Our first week at home was a very very busy! After getting home super late on Sunday night we tried to get as much sleep as we could because tomorrow was going to be a busy morning. Julia, our foreign exchange “sister” was going to be leaving in the morning for Brazil. I was so lucky that Julia could have stayed long enough to meet Mason. Julia’s flight was at 2pm but needed to leave for the airport at 11:00. We got to Mom’s around 9:45 to enjoy our lat hour with Julia.

We spent the rest of the day relaxing with our new baby boy.

The rest of the week was filled with doctors appointments. The entire first week we had an appointment each day. It kept us extremely busy. We didn’t know truly what it was like to stay home all day with a newborn because we were always on the go. We did though become very proficient in packing the diaper bag. With how busy we were surprisingly we never forgot a single thing; yet.

And, speaking of being so busy one of the many appointments we went to that first week was to the pediatrician. When Thomas and I were looking into selecting a pediatrician we did a lot of research and reached out to some close friends for their suggestions. We came across St. Rose Pediatrics and specifically Dr. Hodapp. I am beyond in love with our choice. Dr. Hodapp is wonderful! Our first visit went over really well. He made both Thomas and I feel beyond comfortable with the parenting newness. He even said we both looked like naturals! I am really grateful to have him caring for Mason as he gets bigger.

Here is our first week in pictures:

Our first family photo - with all five of us

The first time upstairs - Sophie was sooo worried about Mason being alone in the bassinet she whined all night because she couldn't see him

We made it through the night and he was still alive :)

Meeting Tinky

Thomas caught this one on camera and couldn't stop laughing - he sent me a text that said, "Look Mom.. Fire Power!"

I have an app on my phone for "photo a day" and I went back through to finish June
