Sophie Day 2 & 3: “Home slice” & Hall Pass.

10 July 2011

The next couple of days were kind of a blur. Thomas and I tried to take shifts when it came to sleeping because someone needed to keep an “eye” on Soph to make sure she wasn’t licking her stitches. We both ended up being kind of crabby. On Saturday evening we decided to take a quick drive to Pahrump, NV.  Papa needed to take a look at an engine for his crane and we decided to join him.

We packed up Soph and headed “out of town.” We ended up talking the entire way out of town and we all really enjoyed each others company. Soph was so great in the car! I was sooo happy she slept most of the time.

Thanks Auntie Lissa for letting me use your "Baby-Making" Quilt.

On the way out of Pahrump, Nana was driving, we noticed a police officer pull behind us. He started closing in on the car really quick when I busted out laughing, “My plates are expired!!” They weren’t really expired but the newest sticker wasn’t placed on the plates. We all started laughing and giving Nana a hard time about her driving. She was going like 5 under the posted speed limit. We made cops siren noises and constantly peeked out the back window. We thought it was funny that it was Nana driving. We kept saying things like, “Pull over grandma. Yes, you in the Santa Fe pull over.” “Granny, keep your hands where I can see them.” We thought it was soooo funny! The cops persisted to follow us for about 7 miles, until finally they turned off the main highway. I definitely don’t think we have laughed as much as we did that night in a long time.

Sunday was another relaxing day. We spent the afternoon with Mom, Papa and Nana watching movies in the den. We bought “Hall Pass” on HBO and again laughed so much that we about peed ourselves. One of my favorite lines was, “How much does a Polar Bear weigh? …. Enough to break the ice!!” Hahaha.

And a BIG shout out to Nana and Papa for letting us stay over! We loved sitting on your couch and watching movies all weekend!!
