It was such a bitter sweet Christmas. It was on of the first in many that we didn't have Pap's in the Christmas picture. But.. some of my favorite things about Pap were:
- Birthday Cards -- every single year we got a birthday card. He always remembered each and every one of our birthday's -- even mom and dad's!
- Silver Dollar Pancakes -- (i get all teared up just thinking about them) Pap used to LOVE to make us grandkids (great grandkids) silver dollar pancakes! They were soo yummy!
- "Ladies Scream.." -- For a while Pap only had great grand daughters. Boy, oh boy, did he LOVE us! He used to love showing us off to all his friends or anyone we passed in the casinos. He used to love to take us to the Show Boat. While we were in the bowling ally he would say "LADIES SCREAM!" following those two simple words came the wails for 4/5 screaming girls! Pap would laugh so hard. It used to make us all smile.
- War Stories -- As I got older one of the more tender things Pap shared with me were his memories of Pearl Harbor and being in the service. I could listen to him for hours upon hours. It was the best kind of history!
Save a dance for me in Heaven. I love you Pap.
