Well... its official. Thomas worked his final day at Bank of America on Friday. Definitely a bitter, bitter sweet moment.
A little over a month ago Thomas and I were driving together in the car and talking about school and just how life changes. Here we are coming up on the year in which we would have both graduated had we gone to school full time and gotten decent grades....(how much does that sting?) But the conversation soon turned to frustration. Thomas had been applying for CNA jobs for almost a full month... had a few interviews and nothing. Everywhere that was hiring was for per-diem; basically a floater or on call position. At first we just talked about how risky it would be.... no set amount earned...no benefits...etc. Before I could stop the words from spewing out of my mouth I told Thomas that .... come September 5th he would give his 2 weeks at Bank of America and we would need to start seriously living on a budget. He would no longer work at the bank. We knew it was going to be hard but it
was the only way to get into a CNA position. About four days after our conversation and a temple trip later T got a call for another interview at Creekside.

We both cried a little. Three days later T went for his interview and was offered a job, on the spot! We both cried a lot that night.
So, tomorrow Thomas will start the newest chapter in his life; full of new people, trials, successes, pit falls, and excitement.
I am so proud of Thomas for all his hard work and for continuing to follow his dream. Your hard work will one day pay off, Dr. Godfrey.
Good luck tomorrow!!
